Maple New & Used

When Ken Zenner found himself facing some health challenges, a new career was in order. He left the oilfields and started a new and used goods business in Alberta where he lived at the time. Ken saw many customers from BC who would comment that they wished there was a store like his in Dawson Creek. It was enough to convince him to pack up himself and his store and move to Dawson Creek, opening Maple New & Used in 2012. In the few years he's been in business locally, Ken says he has received positive responses and enthusiastic support for his business from the community.

Part of what makes doing business in a small town, Ken says, is the fact that it doesn't take long to get to know people on a personal level. Regular customers soon become friends, and business is always better between friends. Ken notes that he has had wonderful customers over his years in local business and is deeply appreciative of their ongoing support.

Ken knows that businesses in small northern towns face some unique and extraordinary challenges. However, Ken views those challenges in a positive light. It helps to motivate him every day to provide exceptional customer service. He also puts ongoing effort into keeping the store clean and updated and a pleasant place to shop. It also makes his regular buying trips exciting, especially when he finds things that he knows his Dawson Creek customers are looking for. Ken is deeply appreciative of the regular positive feedback he receives from his customers.
